This collective text was created in collaboration with Truku language teacher and researcher Nac Hijiyu and Taiwanese scriptwriter and translator Shang Chiao Li as an attempt to map their violent common history in its complexity. The four women recorded their reflections on the historical territory of today's Taroko National Park in the form of texts in their native language, which were then woven together by Willimann/Arai. The resulting "kaleidoscope of gazes" was presented as a collective, multilingual lecture-performance in various Taiwanese cities and later published in a booklet along with a collection of historical and contemporary maps of the territory from ancient Chinese, Japanese, European, American and Han-Taiwanese perspectives.
